The new Camp Nou: what visiting fans should know

By Tigran Harutyunyan28 September 20264 min read

The stadium is being rebuilt in phases. Here is what that means if you are planning a trip from Armenia.

The Camp Nou opened in 1957 and for decades was the largest stadium in Europe. In 2023 the club began a complete renovation, playing for more than two seasons at the Olympic stadium on Montjuïc while the old stands came down.

Back home, in phases

The team returned to the Camp Nou in November 2025 with only part of the seating open, and the works continue around the matches. When everything is finished, the stadium will hold around 105,000 people and have a roof over the stands.

Tips for your trip

Check how many seats are on sale for your match before you book flights: capacity can change from one month to the next while the works continue. Buy tickets only from the club’s official channels, and keep your ticket on your phone with the screen brightness up at the gate.

Arrive early. The area around the stadium is busy with construction, so allow extra time to walk from the metro. And bring a scarf: even in spring, evenings in Barcelona can be cooler than you expect.
